Mortal Kombat 1 Fatality Guide

Before you can perform a fatality you will firstly need to beat your opponent down to the point where you see the “Finish Him” / “Finish Her” message appear on screen you then need to stand a certain distance away from your opponent then quickly input a button sequence to perform a fatality. There are 4 distances you need to understand in order to perform a fatality which are:

• Far distance: Be the other side of the screen to your opponent, as far away as possible.
• Mid distance: Be around half of the screen away from your opponent.
• Close distance: Be 1-2 paces away from your opponent. Close distance in previous Mortal Kombat games meant being so close you are touching your opponent, however, they have moved the required distance back in Mortal Kombat 1. Not an issue, just something to be aware of.
• Any distance: You can input the required button sequence anywhere on screen, regardless of how far or close you are to your opponent.

Below I will list off all 21 kharacters with their respective fatalities, if you are having trouble executing any of them, take a minute to assess the distances in the Fatality tutorial: Main Menu> Learn> Fatalities. Kenshi has a close fatality, Nitara has a mid fatality and Kitana has a far fatality for example.

Another change in Mortal Kombat 1 is found when you input a second kharacters fatality, at launch, these fatalities don’t appear to have a name so we’ll just call them 2nd fatality in this guide.
