PlayStation Gold Trophy

Hunter’s Essence
Acquire all hunter weapons.

Here is the Bloodborne Hunter’s Essence Trophy Guide.

There are a total of 26 hunter weapons you need to find across the world of Bloodborne, the majority of which you can purchase from the bath messenger at the Hunter’s Dream, once you have fulfilled certain criteria. There are a total of 15 right-handed weapons (melee) and 11 left-handed weapons (firearms).

Once you start the game, you will not have any weapons at all, once you’re in the Hunter’s Dream you can choose one of 3 melee weapons, the Saw Cleaver, the Hunter Axe and the Threaded Cane.

Also, you get the choice of 2 firearm weapons the Hunter Pistol and the Hunter Blunderbuss, whichever weapons you choose, you can find all of these out in the game as you go through so there’s no need to worry about the choices, for me I always go for the Saw Cleaver and the Hunter Pistol to have the best offence against the earlier bosses.

2 of these weapons are missable, the Blade of Mercy and the Burial Blade, ensure you collect all of these hunters weapons before going to the Hunter’s Dream garden and talking to Gherman after defeating Mergo’s Wet Nurse.

Below, I’ll list off all 26 hunter weapons and where you can acquire them from, you can acquire these in any order you wish.

Torch

Central Yharnam.
Proceed through the area to find the large bonfire surrounded by the Huntsman enemies, go up the stairs to the left and along the walkway, taking care not to get shot from behind.

Go down the stairs to the right and face off against the brick troll, there are 2 items you can collect just behind the brick troll, the one of the left is the Torch.

Blade of Mercy

Central Yharnam.

For this, you will need to defeat Eileen the Crow, who can be a very tough fight, unfortunately, if you fail to defeat her before defeating Vicar Amelia, you will no longer be able to receive the Blade of Mercy.

To find Eileen the Crow, head all the way through Central Yharnam just before you head down into the Sewers, there are a lot of smashable barrels / boxes to the right just before you go down the stairs (after you go pass the dog kennels), carefully drop down to the ledge, go right onto a large balcony then attack and defeat Eileen the Crow.

Once she’s down, you’ll receive the Crow Hunter’s Badge, this will allow you to purchase the Blade of Mercy from the bath messenger in the Hunter’s Dream for 40,000 blood echoes.

Kirkhammer

Central Yharnam.
You need to defeat the Cleric Beast in Central Yharnam, once defeated, you will acquire the Sword Hunter Badge, this Badge will allow you to purchase the Kirkhammer (3,000 blood echoes) from the bath messenger in the Hunter’s Dream.

Repeating Pistol

Saw Cleaver

Proceed through Central Yharnam to the sewers (story progression), once here, follow the path around to be in a tunnel with a Maneater Boar, defeat the Boar, then in the top-right corner of the area where the Boar was, will be the Saw Hunter Badge, this Badge will allow you to purchase the Saw Cleaver (1,000 blood echoes) from the bath messenger in the Hunter’s Dream.

Logarius Wheel

Cathedral Ward.
Make your way out of Cathedral Ward taking a left, stay left then head down the path, taking out the Huntsmen and the dogs, go up the stairs on your left then follow the path forward all the way and take a right to find Alfred praying at an Altar, kill him to receive the Wheel Hunter Badge.

This Badge will allow you to purchase the Logarius’ Wheel (13,000 blood echoes) from the bath messenger in the Hunter’s Dream.

Hunter's Torch

Old Yharnam.
From the Old Yhanarm lamp, head through to Old Yhanram, then stay right, there is a hole in the railings, drop through here, make your way across and down the rooftops around the left, in the corner, underneath the building you were just on top of in the bottom-right corner, will be the Hunter’s Torch.

Rifle Spear

Old Yharnam.
Make your way to Old Yharnam (out of the left door from Cathedral Ward, stay left, go around to the left, kill the dogs and huntsmen, go up the stairs, pull the lever, go down the stairs, keep going down, open the large set of doors).

You need to find and take down Djura, the NPC firing the gatling gun at you. To find him, go around to the left, across the bridge, stay in cover whilst taking out the enemies so Djura can’t hit you, keep going through the area, then head right when you can.

There is a very powerful enemy down here so watch out for it, go around to the right of the building, you will find a ladder, go up these ladders then take Djura out, if you do knock him off the edge, warp back to the lamp then come back to the platform where you fought Djura to find the Powder Keg Badge.

This Badge will allow you to purchase the Rifle Spear (4,000 blood echoes) from the bath messenger in the Hunter’s Dream.

Stake Driver

Acquire the Powder Keg Badge (see Rifle Spear) This Badge will allow you to purchase the Stake Driver (8,000 blood echoes) from the bath messenger in the Hunter’s Dream.

Ludwig's Holy Blade

Ensure you have defeated the Blood-starved Beast, then get back to the Cathedral Ward lamp, head through the now open open right-side door and head up the elevator, proceed over the walkway, go around the outside of the building head up the ladder then into the main room as if you were heading to Upper Cathedral Ward.

Take out the enemies in here, just before you proceed through the next door, there is a chest, open this chest to receive the Radiant Sword Hunter Badge. This Badge will allow you to purchase Ludwig’s Holy Blade (20,000 blood echoes) from the bath messenger in the Hunter’s Dream.

Make your way up the stairs to the left and out through the open doorway, drop down onto the rooftop, take a left and go up the ladder.

Be careful up here, if you fall off, you’ll need to retrace your steps, follow the cogs to the right, then drop down the right path, on this platform is the Cannon.

Tonitrus

Yahar’gul, Unseen Village.
You need to have defeated Rom, the Vacuous Spider in order to be able to access Yahar’gul, Unseen Village.

Once there, proceed through to the second lamp, from here, continue through as if you were going to fight The One Reborn compulsory boss, instead of turning right when outside on the streets, take a left instead.

Go through the area all the way to a double set of large-wooden doors, just in front of these doors on a corpse is the Tonitrus.

Reiterpallasch

Castle Cainhurst.
Make your way to Castle Cainhurst (Check out our Cainhurst guide for how to get there).

Once there, proceed through the grounds and enter the castle, once inside, stay on the floor you’re on and go to the top-right corner, inside the chest will be the Reiterpallasch.

Evelyn

Castle Cainhurst.
Continue up through the Castle from where you collected the Reiterpallasch, you’ll go through a series of rooms, libraries and balconies until you come to a room with with a half-set of stairs leading up next to the side of some tables against the right-side of the room.

Just before you take the ladder up to face off against Martyr Logarius, ascend this half-set of ladders then drop down to be behind the tables, here will be a chest, inside this chest is the Evelyn.

Chikage

Castle Cainhurst.
Make your way up to the Martyr Logarius boss fight (check out the Martyr Logarius guide for information on how to get to him) once he’s defeated, you’ll be able to collect the Crown of Illusions from where he was slain, equip the Crown of Illusions (it’s a head armour piece) then walk up to his throne, a cutscene will begin.

Once this cutscene has ended run up the stairs to the throne room, talk to Annalise, Queen of the Vilebloods, when prompted, select the options kneel then Swear Oath to the Vilebloods and finally Swear Vileblood Oath.

Stay to the right side, go through the door, there is a Brainsucker enemy at the end of the corridor that can be a bit of hassle, she’ll lock you in place then take a lot of health off of you, use the pillars for cover and edge forward, take her out then roughly halfway down the corridor you just came down will be a corspe, on this corspe will be the Cosmic Eye Watcher Badge.

This Badge will allow you to purchase the Rosmarinus (60,000 blood echoes) from the bath messenger in the Hunter’s Dream.

Beast Claw

Ailing Loran Chalice Dungeon, Layer 2.
(Click the link to go to the Yharnam, Pthumerian Queen Trophy Guide then go to the Chalice of Ailing Loran for information on how to collect the Chalice and how to get through the Chalice Dungeons).

Fortunately, you only need to get to layer 2 in the Loran Chalice Dungeon.

To start off with, defeat the boss in layer 1, then take the elevator down as normal, take left from the lamp through the open door then continue forward, take a left through the break in the wall, make your way through the wet area, pass / defeat the rats in here, continue straight. At the end of the area will be a ladder on your left, take this ladder up.

Go around to the right, cross the walkway, then take out the enemy in the treasure room, you need to open the large coffin at the back of the treasure room, in here will be the Beast Claw.

Burial Blade

Hunter’s Dream.
In order to be able to get this hunter weapon, you need to earn Honoring Wishes for defeating Gherman at the end of the game (ensure you back your save up before hand to have an easier time getting the other “ending” trophies).

By defeating Gherman, you will receive the Old Hunter Badge, once in ng+ (this happens automatically once Gherman has been defeated).

You can then use the Badge to purchase the Burial Blade (60,000 blood echoes) from the bath messenger in the Hunter’s Dream.

Once you have purchased / collected all 26 hunter weapons, your Trophy will unlock.

That’s the Bloodborne Hunters Essence Trophy Guide complete I hope it helps you acquire all of the hunter weapons.
