You will be able to begin the Horie’s Fleeting Petals Sub Mission by collecting the item from the corpse slumped against the large tree with the vibrant purple petals in Lake Hamana which will be a lot easier once you have completed the Disaster at Lake Hamana Myth.
Collecting the item unlocks the Horie’s Fleeting Petals Sub Mission at the Battle Scroll which tasks you with heading down through Horie Castle. The journey down can be fairly treacherous as you have a good amount of Yokai to fight through as you go back towards the tree where you acquired the Sub Mission.
Once you have crossed the bridge, deal with the Yagyo Soldier then approach the tree to spawn in the Magatsu Warrior boss, a very tough enemy with multiple swords and shockwave attacks. Put the Magatsu Warrior down before speaking with the Ghost to round off the Horie’s Fleeting Petals Sub Mission.
