NIOH 3 1864 CE Bakumatsu Chijiko
Here we will go over how to acquire all of the NIOH 3 1864 CE Bakumatsu Chijiko of which there are 13 across 8 of the 10 Regions in the third Era of NIOH 3. Chijiko are essentially Ferrets attached to balloons floating above the battlefield and can be brought down with a ranged attack.

I recommend using either a Ranged Weapon like a Bow or Matchlock or possibly even Ninjitsu to bring the animal down, it won’t matter where it lands as it will always teleport very close to you providing there are no enemies in the local area who have aggro’d. If there are enemies who spot you rest at a Shrine if the Ferret doesn’t appear then go back to the location and it should spawn back in.
One of the best parts about collecting the Chijiko other than the massive amount of Ninja and Samurai Locks you will get along the way is each of the Chijiko hold a Transformed Art for a given weapon type which you can unlock in the Weapon Skills menu. These abilities can dramatically increase the damage that weapon type can cause and the majority of them come with baked in elemental damage as well just to increase the amount of pain you can inflict on your enemies.
Bakumatsu Chijiko
Once you have shot the Chijiko down you will need to ensure you Pet it by holding R1 otherwise it won’t count as collected so be careful and ensure the marker on the map darkens as well as checking the tick box on the map options to ensure you have collected it properly. The Chijiko can be found throughout the following 8 Regions:
Shichijo
There are 2 Chijiko to be found in the Shijicho region which are the:

Closest Shrine: Shichijo, Shijicho Gambling Den.
Go South West from the Shijicho Gambling Den Shrine and climb the tower where the Aberrant Soldiers are to the top where you can hit the Chijiko. Now this Chijiko won’t stop so track your shot and shoot it down even if it takes a few attempts.

Shichijo Gambling Den Chijiko 2
Closest Shrine: Shichijo, Shichijo Gambling Den.
Drop down off the East side of the tower from the previous Chijiko and head North along the street to the end where the ravine is. Look out of the ravine where you might have to wait a good amount of time for the Chijiko to come back around as it does seem to go for a long flight right, turn around then come back where it will stop for a few seconds. Shoot the Chijiko down before it disappears behind the right side wall again or get ready for another wait.

Shijo
There is 1 Chijiko to be found in the Shijo region which is the:
Honnoji Temple-Main Gate Chijiko
Closest Shrine: Sanjo, Honnoji Temple-Main Gate.
Go West from the Honnoji Temple-Main Gate Shrine in the Sanjo Region into the Shijo region and cross the Crucinite path to where the Gaki comes up from the ledge. If you go down to the main ground you have gone to far then once you’re at the Gaki spawn look down and wait for the Chijiko to rest where you can take the shot from above.

Sanjo
There is 1 Chijiko to be found in the Sanjo region which is the:
Sanjo Bridge Chijiko
Closest Shrine: Shijo, Sanjo Bridge.
Cross what’s left of the bridge heading West into the Sanjo region from the Sanjo Bridge Shrine in the Shirakwa region then go left and follow the path to the end so you’re underneath the bridge you just crossed. Look out over the abyss directly under the bridge (over to the left) where the Chijiko will eventually stop its flight and wait for a few seconds allowing you to take the shot.

Gion
There are 3 Chijiko to be found in the Gion region which are the:
Yasaka Shrine Shrine
Closest Shrine: Shirakawa, Yasaka Shrine.
Go South and West into the Gion region from the Yasaka Shrine in the Shirakawa region and through the Mage trio before climbing up the sloped rock which you can go down to the right of and kill the Shunobon. Go right to the edge of the abyss and slowly walk behind the rock to avoid falling off the edge where you can then look down and see the Chijiko.

Kiyomizu Precipice Chijiko
Closest Shrine: Gion, Kiyomizu Precipice.
Run up through the Jailers towards the Lesser Crucible in the South East of the Gion region then jump down to the Kiyomizu Precipice Shrine. Use the Spirit Vein to descend to the lower level and look off to the left to see the Chijiko floating back and forth.

Shrine Walk Greatwood Chijiko
Closest Shrine: Gion, Shrine Walk Greatwood.
Head North from the Shrine Walk Greatwood Shrine and use the Spirit Vein to get to the upper level then use the next Spirit Vein to get up to the roof of the destroyed building. Look up high above the cliff to the Chijiko.

Nijo Castle
There are 2 Chijiko to be found in the Nijo Castle region which are the:
Horikawa Market Chijiko
Closest Shrine: Nijo Castle, Horikawa Market.
Go North West from the Horikawa Market Shrine then stay right along the coastline taking out the 2 Abberant Soldiers and the Waira who is pacing around the clearing. With the Waira down, look out over the waters to see the Chijiko.

Nijo Castle Ruins Lake Chijiko
Closest Shrine: Nijo Castle, Nijo Castle Ruins Lake.
Look over to your North West from the Nijo Castle Ruins Lake Shrine and use the Spirit Vein to get up to the tower. Look North to see the Chijiko floating around above a clearing and the ravine.

Shirakawa
There is 1 Chijiko to be found in the Shirakawa region which is the:
Yoshidayama Approach Chijiko
Closest Shrine: Shirakawa, Yoshidayama Approach.
Go West from the Yoshidayama Approach Shrine and look right over the Spider path to see the Chijiko floating above the right side set of spiked branches.

Mibu
There is 1 Chijiko to be found in the Mibu region which is the:
Mibu Temple-Main Gate Chijiko
Closest Shrine: Mibu, Mibu Temple-Main Gate.
Rest at the Mibu Temple-Main Gate Shrine then come way from the Shrine, turn around and look up to see the Chijiko floating near the top right of the Temple roof.

Kyoto Imperial Palace
There are 2 Chijiko to be found in the Kyoto Imperial Palace region which are the:
Maruta Riverbed Chijiko
Closest Shrine: Kyoto Imperial Palace, Maruta Riverbed.
Go West from the Maruta Riverbed and fight through to the street which has 3 cannons at the end. Sprint forward and to the right where the debris will take the blasts then sprint down to the Soldiers cannons before they get another shot off or you’re going to eat 3 cannon blasts.
Once you’re pass them go around to the left and through the Soldiers camp taking them out as you go North and left of the building to the haybales you can mantle up. Make sure no Soldiers are following you then look out over the water towards the Crucible to see the Chijiko.

Imperial Palace Chijiko
Closest Shrine: Kyoto Imperial Palace, Imperial Palace.
Head South East from the imperial Palace Shrine then take out the Soldiers and the 3 Gunners then fight through the camp to the Yagyo Soldier spawn who will be shrouded before appearing. With the Yokai and Soldiers all dead, look just left of where the Yagyo Soldier spawned to see a stair case. Get on the stairs then jump over to the wooden platform on your right as you’re looking up the stairs before turning around and looking up high to see the Chijiko you can now get a shot at.
