Once you are done in the Antiquity Era having defeated Hiruko in the Dark Roots Story Mission you will be seemingly back at the start of the game which holds similar enemies except when you get to the section with Hattori Hanzo you will now fight a Gozuki, drop down the Well and have a fight against your brother again this time though you need to win. Given the fact there are 2 bosses and 1 Story mission to complete those are the exact categories this walkthrough is broken down into:
Bosses
There are 2 Bosses in the 1622 CE Return to Edo Era both of who are part of the main story mission and are unmissable with them being:
Gouzki
The Gozuki will be located where you will have initially chosen your main Ninja weapon in the first mission of NIOH 3 and it is a fairly powerful beast with slam attacks and a critical you need to Burst Break. Avoid the throw and use Lightning to bring it down by any means possible, there’s a Shrine after the fight so don’t worry about holding back any items.
Tokugawa Kunimatsu
Just like the first time you fought Kunimatsu he will be in the underground room accessible by dropping down the well and don’t expect an easy time of it here. He will pepper you with Lightning attacks before turning to Wind later and as these are fairly opposing Elements in NIOH 3 it can be very hard to guard against.

When Tokugawa is down to around 50% health he will switch to Wind based attacks most of which are delayed and have tracking which is a bad combination all things considered. Use your Living Weapon which should be Fire based if you can to inflict severe damage.
Light Of Hope
Light of Hope is the only mission in the 1622 CE Return to Edo Era and is one where you need to bring down Tokugawa Kunimatsu. Refer to the Light of Hope Story Mission to see what you’ll be up against.
